Congratulations to our Kiwanis Club of Galena officers for the 2025/2026 year. Our newly elected Lt. Governor Cindy Kohlmann conducted the installation ceremony and presented officers with boxes of cake mix to make or donate to the local food pantry. Our Club annually raises funds by way of our “Peanut Days” (this year September 12th & 13th}. On that weekend, you will find our club members soliciting contributions and handing out peanuts at two locations in Galena.
As our focus is to continue to provide much needed support to local children and community programs, we are seeking your support. Please consider a donation to Kiwanis and your community. With every $50 donation you will receive TWO boxes of peanuts (or mini pretzels if desired). A box of delicious peanuts contains 48 – 1 oz. bags of peanuts. Pretzels bags may be substituted and will be approximately the same count. For a donation of $25, you would receive ONE box of peanuts (or pretzels in the same quantity). For either a $50 or $25 donation, the Galena Kiwanis Club would be happy to personally deliver your peanuts.
Our peanuts/pretzels are a tasty treat and also make a great snack or Halloween trick or treat.
We appreciate any donation that you or your company would be able to make. It is through the support of our local residents and hard-working businesses that Kiwanis can continue to serve our communities.

Our club proudly contributes to many organizations in the Galena area. This year, we demonstrated our support in various ways. One of these was by being a hole sponsor for the Food Pantry Golf Outing. This agency provides much needed nutritional support to those experiencing food insecurity in our community.
On June 10th a small group of members visited Casper Creek Natural Cemetery. It’s a beautiful, peaceful environment located at Casper Bluff and is part of the Jo Daviess Conservation District’s properties. For more information visit: https://caspernaturalcemetery.com/
