Supporting In Time Of Need

17 Nov

One of the things Kiwanians excel at is providing support for those in need. Last week, a former member of our club lost her home and most of all her family’s personal belongings. We voted at our meeting on Tuesday to make an initial donation to St. Vincent De Paul to help her with finding a home and buying essentials for the family.

During our next three meetings all of our Happy Dollars proceeds will be given to the famliy as well. Please be kind and generous with cash or checks to help out this needy family during the holiday season

Take Time To Give Thanks

In light of the holiday, we will not be meeting on Tuesday, November 21st. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Orchard Landing Flies In For A Visit

30 Aug

Today we had a presentation from Karen Greiner of Orchard Landing. She told us all about how, along with her husband, the idea for a local orchard came to be.

Started in 2015, with 400 trees, they have “grown” their business, located on Beatty Hollow Road near Hanover, to include 15 varieties of apples. They also offer honey, maple syrup, jellies, pumpkins and apple cider donuts. Whether you drive or fly in (yes they have their own landing strip) it’s a must for a Fall excursion.
