Thanks to Club members Joanne and Mike Muzzey for participating in the Galena Territory Holiday Housewalk and selecting our Club as the recipient of the funds raised by this event. Pictured above, they present a check to our Club for $599. This donation will go towards our community support event, Run for the Parks.

We really appreciate the excellent service we get each week from the servers at Emmy Lou’s. This year Tara was patient with us as she navigated how to get us our Tuesday lunches while we held our weekly meetings. Thanks to Tara and the rest of the group at Emmy Lou’s!

This week, Jordan Hoftender, Marketing and Outreach Coordinator for Riverview Center, visited our Club. Riverview Center provides Advocacy, Therapy/Counseling, and Outreach Services for those struggling with domestic violence and sexual abuse issues. This week our program was presented by Chad Stenberg, Director of the Jo Daviess Carroll Career Technical Education Academy (CTE). Formerly the Jo Daviess Carroll Area Vocational Center, they have been delivering quality career and technical education to high school students and adult learners since 1972.

Irene Thraen-Borowski, Intructor for the Galena High School Art Department, attended our meeting this past week with 2 students who are part of the National Art Honor Society. This is a student led organization that meets monthly at the school and requires 20 hours of art related community service per academic year.
A member of this club drew the Kiwanis Club Menu sign for our Country Fair booth this past October.
